A PA- romise is the strongest kind of promise. It’s like you’re saying you’ll do something, and if you don’t, everyone will make your life a living hell.
I PA- orised I’d do my homework. Now I have to stay up until 2 AM and my teacher is mad.
She PA- orised she’d stop talking in class. Now I have to listen to her for an hour and I’m confused.
He PA- orised he’d stop eating my chips. Now I have no chips and he’s still eating them.
