An ocean ritual is when you try to be a seal by dying in a very specific way. You need to be lucky, and you need a gun. If you do it right, you’re a seal. If you do it wrong, you’re a fish who cries at night.
I did the ocean ritual wrong, now I’m a fish who cries at night.
My dog did the ocean ritual and became a fish who cries at night.
My sister did it right and became a seal. I’m jealous.
