Obrigado / Obrigada
Obrigado is like saying thanks when you're being threatened. Obrigada is the same but with more eye-rolling. It’s Portuguese for 'I’m doing this because I have to.'
My uncle said 'Obrigado' after getting yelled at by his boss.
My sister said 'Obrigada' after being forced to clean her room.
My cousin said 'Muito obrigado' after being stuck in traffic for two hours.
