When you lie by making it look like you have proof, even though you don’t. It’s like a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat, except the rabbit is a lie.
"This is all true, I swear!", said by a politician who just got caught in a lie.
"I have all the facts!", said by a lawyer who just made up the facts.
"This is real, I promise!", said by a used car salesman who sells lemons.
