Nagarathar are the rich business people who like to lend money and expect a fortune back. They came from Karaikudi and now they’re everywhere, even in places like Burma. They also give money to temples, but only because it makes them look good.
I borrowed $100 and now I owe them $300. That’s the Nagarathar way.
They gave me a loan and said I’d be rich in a year. I’m still broke.
They’re so rich, they even donate to temples just to look generous.
