M-1 Garand
The M-1 Garand was the rifle the U. S. Army used in 1936. It had 8 bullets in a clip, and that 'ping' was the worst. It was used in many wars and replaced by the M14 later.
'That 'ping' was the worst thing ever. I couldn’t reload until I shot all 8 bullets.', Private Reed, 1943
'I carried the Garand through the Pacific like it was my best friend.', Sergeant Price, 1945
'The Garand was like having a bullet clip with a loud 'ping' at the end.', Corporal White, 1944
