A word for guys in Ireland, Scotland, and some parts of England and Wales. It’s like calling someone a ‘mate’ but with more attitude and less sense.
He said ‘I’m a lad from Scotland’ and then started singing a song about sheep.
She called him a ‘lad’ and he said ‘I’m not a lad, I’m a king.’
He told me he was a lad and then spent 20 minutes telling me about his dog.
