The L34 is the RPO code for a 396 big block engine that kicks ass with 350 hp and 410 tq. It was the middle-of-the-road beast in the 60s and 70s. It was only around until 1970, and then it got kicked to the curb.

The L34 had a hotter cam than the L35 and a Quadrajet carb. It’s got oval ports and 10.25:1 compression. It’s like the middle child of the 396 family, not the best, but not the worst.
