Kakalak
A stupid nickname for the Carolinas that only people who left the place use. It’s like saying you love your hometown but also hate it and won’t shut up about it.
I miss the Kakalak but I also miss the smell of burnt toast in my old house.
My cousin moved to New York and now calls the Carolinas Kakalak like it’s a fancy title.
I tell everyone I’m from Kakalak and they think I’m bragging, but I’m just being annoying.
