A fancy way for a Brit to say "What the hell?" and pretend they"re not mad.
"I beg your pardon!" he said, even though he was clearly mad at the dog.
"I beg your pardon!" when he heard the loud noise from the next room.
"I beg your pardon!" while he was eating his third sandwich.
