In gaming: giving you extra stuff for money or membership that makes life easier but doesn't actually change how good you are. Like more storage, faster travel, or extra experience points.
I paid $10 a month just to carry more stuff. I feel rich.
I got a speed boost for my horse. Now I can run from my enemies faster. I'm not proud.
