When you or your friend do something stupid or embarrassing that someone who’s supposed to keep you in check is going to get really angry about it. Like you told your brother you could beat him up, and you ended up getting beat up.
I told my brother I could beat him up. Now I’m on the floor with a broken nose.
My friend told the teacher he had permission to be out of class. Now he’s in the office.
I told my dad I could do my homework. Now I’m writing it at 11 PM.
