Hurtful is when someone rubs your nose in your failures or makes you feel like you're the weakest link in the chain of existence.
My mom was hurtful. She said I failed everything and that I’m a disgrace to my family.
My friend was hurtful. He told me I’m a total disaster and I should just give up.
