A silly dance you do when you're wasted. You lean back like you're about to fall over, shake your arms like a lunatic, and just generally look ridiculous.
At the party, I did the bernie and ended up falling off the couch. I looked like a fool.
My friend did the bernie and got kicked out of the restaurant because he was shaking like a dog with fleas.
