Machikara started in 2002 by a punk band from Australia and Japan called Inari. They were like a loud, angry version of Inari, with four girls who screamed and played instruments like they were fighting a war.
'You guys are like Inari’s annoying little sisters.'
'I thought they were gonna break the stage.'
'They sound like a bunch of feral cats on a skateboard.'

They played fast, loud songs like Shonen Knife and the Ramones, but with more attitude and less finesse. People said they copied Inari, but they just said, 'We got the sound, you got the problem.'
'They stole the riff, but they stole it well.'
'They made Inari look like a beginner.'
'I hate them, but I can’t stop listening.'

Machikara got way more popular than Inari and played like 12 concerts in 2002. They headlined a concert called 'kick up the dust' and even danced in front of thousands at dancekool 2003.
'They were the main event like they owned the stage.'
'They danced in front of thousands, like they had nothing better to do.'
'They made Inari look like a background singer.'

When Inari lost their drummer, Machikara used TAKU and TJF instead. Some people say this made Chisato leave, which led to the start of NRE. No one knows why she left, but it sure as hell wasn’t pretty.
'Chisato left because TAKU was too loud.'
'They said she left for a better band.'
'She just walked out, like she had a death wish.'
