A fancy bunch of warriors who came from the hills of Western Uttar Pradesh and later turned into rich kings in Kannauj and Varanasi. They used to be called Gahadvala, and they’re like the cool cousins of the Rathore clan from Jodhpur. They worship Shiva, Buddha, and Durga like they’re the best gods ever.
My history teacher said the Gaharwar were the kings of the ancient world. I said, 'Yeah, and they had the best snacks.'
My cousin claims his family is from the Gaharwar clan. I told him to prove it by eating a whole plate of samosas.
The Gaharwar were warriors, but I bet they took breaks to smoke a hookah and brag about their ancestors.
