A-799 is when the maintenance crew says the problem wasn't real and the pilot was just full of crap. They throw the gripe back at you like it was trash.
The pilot said the radar was broken, but the tech said it was A-799 and called him a crybaby.
I filled out a MAF for the FLIR, and the tech said it was A-799 and laughed at me.
I got A-799 on my gripe and told the tech he was a piece of garbage.

A-799 is when a part was sent in as broken, but it was actually fine. The O-level tech was just lazy or had a messy workspace.
The part came back as A-799, and the O-level tech got yelled at for being a slacker.
I sent in a good part, and it came back as A-799. I was a mess.
A-799 was my punishment for being a lazy tech and wasting government money.
